Rytel to największa po Czersku miejscowość w gminie.  To wieś letniskowa (2.255 mieszkańców – stan na 18.05.2015 r.), położona przy drodze krajowej 22, 14 km na zachód od Czerska, z dogodnymi połączeniami PKP i PKS.
Nazwa miejscowości pochodzi od nazwiska Marcina Retila, który w 1430 roku otrzymał przywilej na karczmę przy „trakcie gdańskim”, w miejscu przeprawy przez Brdę.
Dzięki malowniczym okolicom: Brdzie i Wielkiemu Kanałowi Brdy Rytel stanowi doskonały punkt etapowy spływów kajakowych.
Warto tutaj odwiedzić neobarokowy kościół NMP Królowej Różańca Św.
Przy głównej drodze naprzeciwko kościoła kawiarnia „Kaprys” od lat niezmiennie serwuje lody własnego wyrobu. Miejscowość
ta posiada również bogate zaplecze w postaci bazy noclegowej (pole namiotowe, liczne pokoje gościnne) i gastronomicznej (kawiarnia, restauracja, bar, pizzeria i sklepy). W sezonie letnim organizowane są tu liczne imprezy turystyczno-kulturalne, a okoliczne lasy obfitują w grzyby i jagody. Turysta spragniony kontaktu z przyrodą znajdzie w Rytlu doskonałe warunki do wypoczynku. Do spacerów na łonie natury zachęca m.in. nowoczesna, ponad 400 m promenada nad Wielkim Kanałem Brdy. Jej atutem są wygodne i estetyczne elementy małej architektury i przepiękne położenie wzdłuż malowniczego kanału. To ulubione miejsce spacerów mieszkańców Rytla. Nad Wielkim Kanałem Brdy na letników czeka też nowoczesne kąpielisko i plaża z pełnym zapleczem sanitarnym.

Rytel is the biggest, after Czersk, place in the commune.  It takes its name after the surname of Marcin Retil, who obtained a privilege to put an inn at “ the Gdańsk road” in the place of the Brda River crossing.
Thanks to its picturesque neighbourhood: The Brda and The Great Canal of Brda, Rytel is a perfect phase place of canoe rallies. The Queen of Holy Rosary Church, neo-gothic in style as well as the remains of evangelic cemetery are worth visiting. Opposite
the church, just at the main road, there is a “Kaprys” cafe, where you can eat homemade ice cream, being served there for years. Rytel off ers both a varied accommodation (camping place, guest rooms) and food (cafe, bars, pizzeria and shops). In summertime lots of tourist-cultural events take place and nearby forests are full of mushrooms and blackberries.
Nature-loving tourists will find wonderful conditions to relax in Rytel. Tourists are encouraged to stroll in the bosom of nature by, among others, a modern, 400 m long promenade on the Great Canal of Brda. Its chief asset are comfortable and esthaetic elements of architectural details and gorgeous location along this picturesque canal. This is a favourite place of walks of inhabitants of Rytel. A modern bathing beach with complete sanitary facilities is waiting for holidaymakers on the Great Brda Canal.

Rytel ist der zweitgrößte (nach Czersk) Ort in der Gemeinde. Der Namen von Marcin Retil zurückzuführen, der im Jahre 1430 das Erlaubnis für eine Gaststätte am „Danziger Weg“ am Fluß Brda, bekommen hat. Dank der malerischen Gegend, dem Fluß Brda und dem Großen Brda-Kanal ist Rytel ein ausgezeichneter  Punkt für Paddelbootausflüge. Sehenswert ist hier die St. Maria Neubarockkirche. An der Hauptstraße, gegenüber der Kirche, bietet das Cafe „Kaprys“ seit vielen Jahren  elbstgemachtes Eis an. Der Ort besitzt auch viele Übernachtungsplätze (ein Zeltplatz und private Unterkünfte), Cafe, Restaurant, Bar, Pizzeria und Geschäfte. Im Sommer finden in Rytel zahlreiche Touristen- und Kulturveranstaltungen statt. Die Wälder sind reich an Pilzen und Blaubeeren. Der Kontakt zu Natur suchende Tourist findet hier ausgezeichnete Erholungsbedingungen. Die moderne 400 Meter lange Promenade am Großen Brahe- Kanal lädt Sie zu Spaziergängen in herrlicher Natur ein. Der Vorteil der schön gelegenen Promenade sind bequeme und schöne Elemente der kleinen Architektur. Das ist der Lieblingsplatz für Spaziergänge der Einwohner von Rytel. An dem Großen Brdakanal warten auf die Touristen das moderne Freibad und der Strand mit Sanitätshilfe.
